  • Advice about Evo

Has anyone heard or used EVO pet food by Innova? The label reads EVO the ancestral diet meets modern nutrition. We have a specialty dog food store in the area and they recommended this can food for my Jessie (12yrs old) who has been a little finicky for her morning meal. I have to say, she absolutely loves it!! It says it is protein rich, ultra low carb and no grains. I bought the turkey and chicken fromula and the ingredients look very good. It even contains whole eggs and cottage cheese. If anyone has any comments, I am very interested in hearing any feedback.

    Re: Advice about Evo

I moved this to a separate discussion so others will see it. I know others have used Evo and my recollection is that they had trouble regulating their dogs, which always surprised me as it's fairly high in protein.

But let the ones who have actually used it provide you with the advice. I'm only speaking from my often fuzzy memory!

We have a thread on what people feed and what insulin they use. I will bring that forward and you can scroll through and see what people are feeding their diabetic dogs.

              Re: Advice about Evo

Buddy has been on evo duck for about a month now. I only give him about 2/3 of a cup a day. Mix it in with his W/D. His BG was fine but has been elevated over the past week or so. I am going to try doing a curve on him today. I think it could be that my Dad has kinda messed up this week with his afternon snacks and I think he had a bladder infection which the Vet gave me antibiotics for. He forgot to come and feed him twice this week and on Monday (Buddy's 11th BD), I forgot to get Buddy's snack ready and he gave him his dinner for lunch.
