Pepper, 8 yr old Min Schnauzer diagnosed with Diabetes in March of 2010....completely blind by June.....7 units of Novolin N 2 X day. Any word on when Walmart will bring us a low cost insulin. It is now impossible to get any Novolin N from them for 24.88 in my area in Ohio.....however my sister in
Cincinnati has found me 2 bottles there and is bringing them to me this weekend. We are leaving for a short vacation this weekend and pepper is going to stay at our vets. Hope he does OK. This blind status is so sad....no more baby bunnies found under the dining room table....no more ground moles brought into the house to play with. Just plain sad.....Marlu

Marlu,
You might want to ask RELION at their FaceBook web site. I believe i read there a week or two ago that they want to know if anyone has problems obtaining their insulin.
Hope this link works, or once on FaceBook, search for RELION:

I just bought four bottles of it at our Walmart in West Bend, Wisconsin and they told me they had "lots." What that means, I've no clue, but I was happy to save approx. $180 over Walgreen's price.
Looks like I should go back and get some more. The expiration date was 8/2012 and they didn't seem phased at all by my buying 4 at a time.

Thank guys.....I will make some calls to all our Walmarts in our area and see if they can tell me when they will have something available from Lilly and what the pricing will be....read somewhere it should be available in Sept. I have enough of Peppers Insulin to get me thru October. Dr just upped his dosage so now it only lasts short of 4 weeks.

Remember everyone...if you can't find ReliOn Novolin N at your local Walmart you can also check at Sam's Clubs as they too carry the ReliOn brand diabetic products including of course, Novolin N.
You do NOT have to be a Sam's Club member to be able to use a Sam's Club Pharmacy.
Upon entrance to the store you simply tell the person checking membership cards that you are going to the pharmacy.

As I posted earlier today, ReliOn is on Facebook. They seem to answer questions about diabetic supplies (and take action) quickly.
Here is a Facebook post from a few weeks ago about insulin. Hope it copies OK:
ReliOn: We're hearing about ReliOn insulin outages in the Northwest - Oregon specifically. Anyone else having trouble? Please let us know so we can fix it ASAP.

ReliOn Jimmy - You should be back in business early next week. The distribution centers are receiving more inventory today. Sorry for the outages.

Tammy Graham: I had trouble getting some in Marion, Ohio last week. I just got some today, thank goodness. I thought my poor doggie was going to have to do with out.

Annie Michelson: My human parents got my ReliOn Novolin-N yesterday at the McMinnville, OR store. Said they had 10 vials. We did take the last 2 boxes of 3/10, 31 gauge, short needle syringes.
GREAT VALUE!

Just one more post about the ReliOn switchover. I'm not sure I ever saw this news release before:

I asked earlier today on Facebook about the changeover, and was directed to this June news release.

Back when all of this first came out and I had mentioned it to my Walmart Pharmacist he was surprised he hadn't yet heard anything.
I printed this out and gave it to him, he appeared to be thankful and couldn't figure out why it hadn't already been passed on to him internally.
