  • A bit on the nose....

I used to give Jess fresh breath chews from the supermarket, but I don't now invade they interfere with her glucose.

In the last week or so her breath is getting stinky.. I know she needs a new chew toy, but is there anything I can give her?

    Claire,

How are Jess' glucose levels...if this smell is something recent they can develop an acetone type smell with high bgs.

I'm afraid I haven't followed Jess' progress close enough to know whether or not she is staying in a good range.

Her levels are good. I think it's the w/d that makes her breath smell. It isn't acidic or sweet smelling, it just smells like pongy burp!

          Will she chew a nylabone?

Also, you can get some gauze sponges and wipe her teeth each day with one, especially the molars where the saliva comes out. This will cut down on dental disease & is a lot easier than trying to brush them!
