I was searching around for some natural/holistic supplement to give Buddy to help boost his immune system and came across some information on Bee Pollen.

    Has anyone tried this?

I've heard some good things about it overall. But not sure of the impact it would have on diabetes.

      Thanks Patty!

Yeah, I'm not sure about the impact to diabetes either. And I also saw something about how it may not be good for long term use - which kinda throws a wrench into my whole idea of using it as an immunity booster!

Of course, I'll talk to my vet and maybe also seek out a holistic vet to see what more I can find out.

I tried the Dr. Harvey supplement that has Bee Pollen in it, and I found that it may have raised Abby's numbers. However, I do use the Standard process Whole Body Canine Support as well, and did find it did NOT raise her levels (at first I did, but I have proven it does not).

I feel that the Standard Process has helped Abby tremendously. I have not gone back to the Dr. Harvey's bee pollen mix yet. How about Spirulina (I heard good things about this)?

          Thanks Barb!

I'll look into the Standard process...where do you get it?

I'll also look at spirulina...haven't heard of that at all.

Most chriropractors sell Standard process, and can get the the Veterninary forumlas as well. Holistic vets will also sell this product.

However, I did get mine on line; http://www.pureformulas.com/canine-w...d-process.html

Abby is like a puppy again with this stuff. Considering she is only 17 lbs, she gets 1/8 of a tsp a day.

Whole Foods will sell the spirulina, but that is good for the immune system as well.

Also, I watch alot of Karen Becker's videos, and Mercola sells this supplement:

            Hopefully this helps.

              hey
I second Barb on the standard Process. I started Ed on it at the same time and he too is like a pup. I get mine at Evitamins4u.com ( I think that is right)
He gets it twice day. My vet thinks it's an ecellent product.
I aslo bought the Cardiac support of which I haven't tried yet.
