When I go to make the printing larger and type in the number that I want it to be.... I get letters on the screen.... The same thing happens if I try ti change the italic... how do I fix that?

Let me see what I can do here with font sizes.

I'm going to the "Sizes" selector and I get numbers from 1-7--one is the smallest font and seven is the largest type.

This is size 1.

This is size 2.

This is size 3.

This is size 4.

This is size 5.

This is size 6

This is size 7.

OK--when you select the size font you want, you see the words "SIZE=" and a number in square brackets. Then you see "/SIZE" in another set of square brackets. What you need to do is to type whatever you're going to type in between the first "SIZE=" with a number in square brackets and the second "/SIZE" in square brackets. Only when you type it between the set of square brackets will the size of the font be changed to whatever size you chose.

You can do italics either by selecting the "I " from the icons above or by putting an "i" in square brackets where you want the italics to start, and "/i" in square brackets when you want to turn the italics off.

Italics

When you start using vBulletin code for things like this, always remember it's a lot like a light switch. When you put the letter or word(s) in square brackets to start, you turn the effect "on"--when you add "/ " before the letter or word(s) in the square brackets, you turn the effect "off".

You can practice here with posting and keep previewing your post to see if you got the board to do what you wanted it to. :) But whether you do it yourself or have help from the editing icons we have, you need to remember that whatever you're trying to change has to be between those square brackets.

OK--do you see the big "A" with what looks like a "fat" underline under it? Click that and you'll get a small screen where you can pick colors just by clicking them.

This is dark orange.

This is dark green.

When you want a different color, the easiest thing to do is to go to the big "A" icon and pick out the color. Clicking that will put ["COLOR="] with the name of the color you picked and [/COLOR] on your screen in square boxes.

What you have to do then is to make sure whatever you want to have the color you picked typed in between the two square boxes, just like what we did with changing the size of the font, posting pics to the board, and so on--it has to go between those square boxes or it won't show up in the color you picked.

I didn't know it was for colors either until I started clicking things--had been doing colors by adding the tags above myself. :)
