All you Cushing's Refugees (as John (JohnII)says) would you be able to briefly say how you did manage to find us here. It might help us help some others find us too.

Hi Alison
Leslie (Squirt's mom) had my yahoo email and she e-mailed me. I was a member of K9diabetes since 09/2008.
Unfortunately I don't have more emails.
Today I saw that a pop-up shows up when you try to search for CC.net. You'll have to "allow" the pop-up though, and it doesn't automatically redirects you to www.k9diabetes.com/forum/, but that's better than before.
Maybe the pop-up window could be more explicit. My husband's company had the same problem last year, some Russian hackers hi-jacked their web site and they had to put it down twice, and in the meantime their home page redirected all their clients to their temporary site.
Let's hope the problem gets resolve promptly and that all our members find us here at k9diabetes.

Hello Alison (my Northern Neighbour :) ),
I spent the first few days thinking it was my PC - not the server. But I finally realised it wasn't a virus or spyware or malware on my PC at all that was at fault - after spending a good chunk of Easter downloading and updating and scanning :-)
Luckily my niece came by with an I-Phone and she couldn't get to the site either. Then after forlornly clicking on the link every day - it occurred to me that someone must have found a work-around by now. So I googled "canine cushings forum" and scrolling down the first page of results was a link here.
I just tried it again - now it's on the 3rd page and isn't as direct to the new forum as it was yesterday:
K9 Biographies / Stories - Diabetes in Dogs: The k9diabetes.com Forum Threads in Forum : K9 Biographies / Stories, Forum Tools .... K9diabetes discussions, Answers - Archive of helpful posts from the forum, Canine Cushings ...
www.k9diabetes.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=5 - 49k - Cached - Similar pages

Hi,
I must have clicked on the site 50 times that first day -- just couldn't believe it wasn't there. I even asked our computer tech at work to take a look. Then I tried to think of anyone on the list for whom I had an email address. I remembered that Bettina (BKDice) had referred me to the list back in the fall and I had saved that message. I emailed her and she tracked down Leslie.

I remembered that there were some members of the caninecushings.net board whose dogs were also diabetic, so I came here to post and ask if anybody knew where the Cushings site had gone to.
And lo & behold, I found this thread- yay! (and what a relief) :)

I joined k9diabetes at Natilie's invitation because I wanted to follow Mik's story and see how he was doing after he left cc.net wit a dx of diabetes. I was keeping tabs on him and Mik and asked Nat to send him a message. Nat said it was okay to join, so I did.:)
Besides, anyone who has been in cc.net can see Natilie's involvement in cc.net so I went there to send her a mssg to find out if she knew anything and then I saw the Welcome canine cushings. History from there.:)
I feel connected to my cush support family again.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Hi,
I remembered that Natalie and a few others were on the K9diabetes forum so just sent an email to see if they knew what had happened to the site. I have noticed today that there is a link to here on page 2 of Google and Ask when you search for Canine Cushings Forum.

Alison - this is a great thread! It is wonderful that so many have found their way to this site. We need to reach out to as many members and dogs in need as we can.
So - everyone email every member you know of to let them know where we are housed.
also - if ANY of you have any computer skills - or know anyone who does.... our goal is to have messages showing up in google etc. that indicate that caninecushings.net is down and we are at k9diabetes/forum for the time being.
Any and all ideas are good ones! Thanks.

Hi, all! I had tried Google searches for "Canine Cushings forum" for several days with no luck and then tried again and, about the fourth selection down, was this:
"Canine Cushings Link is down -- use this link - Dogs - City-Data Forum
1 post - 1 author
Please use this link till the site is back up, they are working on it. Canine Cushings - Diabetes in Dogs: The k9diabetes.com Forum.

I did share this info on the beagle forum I moderate.

I checked for the site twice a day everyday to see if it was back. I finally typed something like "problem with cc.net webiste" in google and it linked me to Leslie and she emailed me with this new site. I am so thankful for that. My doggie will be starting first treatments on Saturday! and I was running out of time. I was not signed up on the other site but I visited the site alot and learned alot.

Hi - coming in a little late, here, since I only check the forums rarely and so didn't discover right away that they were down. When my bookmark for the site led to something weird, I tried Googling caninecushings.net, since Googling a whole site name often leads to a Google cache of the site. The third link on the resulting page was Leslie's notice here: http://aspcacommunity.ning.com/group/dogsville/forum/topics/caninecushingsnet-and-all-who.
Thanks, Leslie and Natalie for finding us a temporary home!

My question is once the new site is up & running, are we going to be able to move all the content from our temporary home to the new site? I would hate to see some of the brand new members have to recreate the introductory information that has already been posted on their pups. I have been holding up trying to recreate Harley's round of diagnostic testing until something more permanent was in place.

Hi Debbie. Alot of people, including me have done google searches to find the cached pages from our thread. I don't know if you saw the posts on that and how to do it.
I tried to remember the exact words of my thread's title. (I had 2) One of them was Time for a mini load? I googled it to get the spelling right. Then I typed it exactly as it showed up. Then I did an advanced search and many of the pages showed up cached. If they are cached you can save them. Here is the results from my search:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls=com.microsoft:*&as_qdr=all&q=+site:www.caninecushings.net+time+for+a+miniload +haley
New threads would be easier to get I would think but I would try to get them as soon as possible. Its nice to have for reference.
Hope this helps!

Happy to say I found my way here thanks to Susy (Wylie's mom) who contacted me through You Tube :) And many thanks to the K9Diabetes folks for giving us a place to stay...:)
I can only imagine the panic that some must have felt, finding out that the CC website was hacked/gone...especially those with newly diagnosed pups when the shock is so overwhelming, or for those going through the loading phase, when you need support so badly...etc. Even I, with no Cushpup, was lost, without my regular visits and keeping up-to-date with the stories and devellopments.
So, thank you Susy, thank you K9Diabetes and thank you all those that are working hard to get the new CC website up and going again :)
