good for you changing things up! I hope it goes smoothly. I remember when Jenny's vet wanted to change her cushings meds and her insulin because at the time nothing was working, i got in the car and cried at the thought of starting over.

Yep! Made sure to go over that well with the family too! I can't image how you make minor adjustments! I'm having a hard enough time with an odd number of units!! :eek:

Not sure if this is a problem (fine adjustments) you are having? Are you having trouble seeing the markings to make 1/2 unit adjustments? If so, what capacity syringe are you using? They are sold as 1, 1/2, and 3/10 ml capacity. The 3/10 ml syringes come with markings to measure down to 1/2 unit. I think most use the 3/10 ml syringe that will dose up to 30 units.

As Craig said, many of us use the short needle 3/10 ml syringes. They work well even on larger dogs. This is what I use for Lily...

Well now I'm showing my ignorance! I just bought what they gave me and it the 1ml syringe that doses up to 100! I'll go back today and see if they have the 3/10. That would make so much more sense!

Vinny has an eye infection. :( I took him to an emergency clinic this past weekend (because our vet wasn't in), unfortunately it was the same one we took Calli to. Ugh.:( Anyway, they gave me a gel for his eye, but it seems like it's getting worse. I called my vet this morning, but they can't get him in until Thursday. I'm just not sure if I should wait. He obviously is not feeling well.

Any ideas?

Amy I can't remember the name. It starts with 'neo' and has a bit of steroid in it. Last night his eye really appeared sunken and it was obvious he just did not feel well. Nothing was better this morning so we're back at the emergency clinic. :(
