Re: Sissy's Mom
The Blue buffalo healthy weight is sold at Petco Petsmart type places. You might read through Bogie's thread on the food comments recently http://www.k9diabetes.com/forum/show...ed=1#post95082 Dawn and Craig are currently mixing foods (though Dawn's has been to make a switch) to get a flatter profile.

Cebe, explain?? U mean try sides for a few days and see off that changes #'s??? I'm nervous about trying it(lol,u know me) but will start in a.m.:):)

Re: Sissy's Mom
Should I cut her insulin any when I switch to sides??;
Does it absorb faster?? |
Re: Sissy's Mom
Don't make any dosing changes but just monitor. Yes, try using her sides to administer the shots for a week or more and monitor the bg to see if there's any change in the pattern. Of course if you get a truly low number like 60, then pull back, but its important with Sissy to only make one change at a time and then observe. If you change the dose too, you won't know which change did what.

Re: Sissy's Mom
Ok,should I monitor nite and day.will #'s tend to be a little lower and maybe more even ??

Re: Sissy's Mom
When I switch to sides,can I stay with that,or do u have to keep changing spots??
|
Re: Sissy's Mom
I use the same general area but not the same exact spot. Sometimes scar tissue can form that can also inhibit absorption, so alternating sides and moving around in the same area is good. But generally my dog gets her shot in the same spot each day.
As for monitoring, I do think you need to get some overnight tests done but I would wait a few days so the effects of this change, if any, can settle in. |
