Completely agree with others..stay with 5 units for example, same time,same food and give pup some time to get adjusted...time is your friend...you can not hurry this process, as many of us learned...

I would pick maybe 5 units amd stay with it for a bit to see what it does...and not vary the insulin time unless you get a serious low....then go from there...

If you're using alphatrak strips,it needs to be set for code on strip vial... some people use another strip (forgotten what kind) in the alphatrak meter, then code is different..

I would suggest an Internal medicine specialist...I did not find them much more expensive,amd after a bisit,they can give you names well...

I used it with my Sissy.For her it worked better than NPH, but remember it is 4 times stronger than nph,so doses are smaller. It is much more expensive,especially for a big dog.

I used wellness core which worked well for sissy.It is grain free also.It is about 75.00 for 28 lbs...
I no longer use it because of her other health issues..
