Re: Insulin and supplies to give away

As a suggestion, find a rescue that could use the supplies. That is what I did with the supplies left from when my Gus became an angel in March. I donated a meter and new boxes of test strips,...

Re: Our sweet Vinny is an angel, July 27, 2018

I am so very sorry for the loss of your Vinny. I know how hard it is. It's been 5 months since my Gus has been an angel. I still come here from time to time to read and see how all the other sugar...

Re: Dasani - Miniature Schnauzer - New to this

I'm so sorry for your loss. So heartbreaking, and more so because of the special bond that comes with sugarbabies. It has been 4 months since I lost my Gus, and it wasn't from diabetes, but cancer...

Re: when do you decide to get another dog?

Love your story, Daisey's mom. I too hope that the "right" dog will speak to me. All puppies speak to me, but I have to get past that puppy cuteness, and find that rescue that no one wants and it...

Re: when do you decide to get another dog?

It has been a little over a month since I lost my Gus. The urge to get another dog was there right away because I just had a void, and I still have the huge void. We have gone from 3 dogs to 1 dog...

Re: Lucky Lacey Mini Schnauzer new diagnosis

My heart breaks for you. Having lost my boy Gus, also a schnauzer, only 3 weeks ago, I know exactly the pain and heartbreak you are feeling. With the special bond we have with our sugar babies, it's...

Unhappy Missing my Gus

Three weeks ago tonight I lost my Gus to a cancerous tumor and complications, not his diabetes. I just feel so lost without him. I feel like I am forgetting to do something. I still watch the...

Re: Test strips, lancets & meter available

I donated all of Gus's unused supplies to an animal rescue that has on-staff veterinarian. They were very appreciative. So, I feel good that I was able to do that in his honor.

Re: Gus, the mini-schnauzer - *Angel* as of 3/7/18

My Gus became an angel during the night. I am heartbroken. It wasn't the diabetes, but the cancerous hip tumor and it's complications that took his life. It's been rough 3 weeks, with the last...

Re: Gus, the mini-schnauzer

Jesse Girl, his sugar was only high 24 hours and that was 4 days ago. We've been in good range last couple of days - 200's, 300's mostly. If higher, it was because he had a carb milkbone, I think,...

We have not been to a specialist, which is over 100 miles away. This thing is hard and not like his fatty lympomas he has in other places, which are movable. It appears to be attached to the bone....

Re: Uncontrolled diabetes after 6 months

What is the fiber / fat content of his food? He may need more fiber. Fiber tends to help control sugar as part of the diet. I notice he is eating beef and a sweet potato mix.

Re: Coco poor appetite low energy recurrent UTI

Getting them to eat when their pancreas is flared is difficult. Your normal feeding/insulini routine seems to go out the window. Small bites throughout the day is what I had to do for almost a week...
