Wonderful photos. Maggie is a gorgeous girl, nice to see her meeting the Easter bunny. I just went to the vets store today and bought Fua a huge Easter bunny. He likes to sleep against something soft. Thanks for all the wonderful advice you have offered me so far!
Fua is a cross-setter dog adopted from the Arc de Noel Rescue Centre in Nantes, France. Developed diabetes/possibly Cushings Disease in November 2015. 70% sudden sight loss around 20th/21st February 2016. Fua lives with his brother, Ashley - a greyhound-cross rescue dog - in England and Portugal.

Maggie had a wellness bloodwork done today. I am considering having her teeth cleaned again. Her numbers were better than her last bloodwork. Only a couple of things were high and the vet thought they looked great for a dog who is 15 years and 8 months old. I just don't know if I want to risk it. She has been doing pretty decent lately. I have a nervous feeling about it.

My non- diabetic schnauzer had her heart rechecked with an echocardiogram and unfortunately, she is now on meds for heart disease. They didn't mention if she has gone beyond grade 3 but the bottom of her heart has now dilated like the top part. I feel really bad about it because she hasn't had symptoms and I have been so caught up in Maggie and all her ailments that I let this heart thing kind of go by the wayside. Breaks my heart - the specialist said that it really is hard to do much - some progress slowly and some progress more rapidly. I just wish I had this done sooner. I just kept putting it off and she doesn't cough at all. I hope the meds will slow it down some. She is such a sweet doll.

Yes amy a difficult decision. I guess it depends how the teeth are looking anf how it affects her .

You will do whats best for her and hope the medication helps your other pup.

Well ya know what I,m going to vote. Yes to cleaning. Same as senior bloodworkups I,d get their teeth cleaned and xrayed every 2 years. Stay with her after the cleanings done for a few hours

                  • Maggie had another pancreatitis bout - spent the last two days at the vet. We caught it early. The vet called me to pick her up today because she got away from them and chased the clinic cat and so the cat was hid out in the clinic and they couldn't find it. How does a mostly blind, partially deaf feeble sick dog get loose and chase a cat? Geez.
