    Early on our vet told us he wanted to check our dog's lowest point by testing at 6 hours. We gradually discovered that he is pretty much at his highest point then so it would have been hopeless to adjust anything based on that as his lowest number.

    Our dog has his lowest point just before his next meal so we test before breakfast and also mid-afternoon so we can catch him if he is dropping fast before teatime.

    It all becomes easier as you become familiar with your own dog's pattern.
