Consistency Watery = rapid transit through intestine Covered with mucus = conditions affecting large intestine (colitis) Oily or greasy = malabsorption (fat not digested and absorbed) Bubbly = gas-forming bacteria in intestine Frequency and Quantity Small amounts, frequent elimination = irritation of the colon (colitis) Large amounts 3-4 times a day = digestion or absorption problem in small intestines |
