Dear Friends,
I don't know whats made me log on here this morning after such a long time ....but here I am. I do look at the forum from time to time, but always get so upset at the missing names and sense of time moving too fast. I am so sorry to hear about Annie and Eddies passing. Anyway I think Im here because I want to do an update so here goes. Pippa is well. Fine actually. Very healthy and happy and spolit. Its now been 5 and a half years since she was diagnosed. Shes over 12 now and getting to be an old lady. She is now sadly an only pet as all our other furbabies have passed. I never would of believed Pips would still be here last. Our darling George died some 18 months ago very suddenly and we didnt know how pippa would manage without him ( or us). Suprisingly she is very happy as an only dog and loves her short walks and toys and fuss. She has good vision and never did go blind as I expected and feared. She has really good control and is still on bd canninsulin and burns weight control. still a skinny little thing. We love her so much and she is very funny and still keeps us on our toes. I really dont know if she would be here or as well if it wasnt for the support of this amazing forum 5 years ago. Thank you all.

Sorry to come on here to report sad news.
Darling Pippa has passed peacefully away. Aged 13. Diabetic half her life. She has been struggling the last 4 months,,,,we decided not to over investigate and let her tell us when it was time to go. This sadly happened on Thursday last and she looked at me with no wags left and let me know was time to say goodbye. Our dear vet Simon was wonderful and Pips fell asleep forever in my arms. It wasn't her diabetes, we suspect a combination of old age, wear and tear and multiple chronic diseases and metabolic dysfunction( dm, thyroid ? addisons and OA)>. She also never went blind, how I worried about that for so many years. She was a great little dog. Lived a full , happy and busy life, full of joy and mischief. . Heartbroken right now but so so glad to have had her in our lives for so long. We will bring her ashes to be by George in their. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the help and support from this wonderful forum over the last 6.5 years. We would not of got here without you all. So Sorry for everyones elses losses too. This really is the worst time. Much love Jen x

always was excited to hear pippas exploits and just fun loving nature.
Jen you were so supportive of pippa and accomplished what you wanted the most was keeping her site . We get so close to our diabetic partners . Its almost symbiotic and thats what makes it so difficult when its time to go

Sorry to hear Pippa passed. You provided a great home for her and dealt with all her needs and health issues. She's watching over you from afar, until the day you are together again.
My deepest condolences to you and Godspeed to Pippa.

Aw, Jen... I'm so very sorry. It's just so hard after fighting battles for so long. She was obviously dearly loved by her family so I know she had a wonderful life. You were such a blessing to her.
Sending a kiss skyward to Pippa and a hug to you and yours, Natalie |

Jen,
So very sorry. It is so hard to let go even when the time is right. Diabetes is a struggle, just in the day to day schedule of food and shots, the uncertainty of blood sugar, and their dependence on us, the caretakers, to take their life in our hands. It is heartbreaking to let go but eventually, your heart will heal and you will look back without tears. Your journey with Pippa was inspirational and your dedication to her was evident. Fly free, sweet Pippa. Amy

I loved hearing about Pippa. I know it is inevitable as our forum dogs get older but I know she left a huge hole in your home and your hearts. Big hugs to you and to Angel Pippa.
