My Sasha was diagnosed with diabetes just last week. The vet gave me a rundown of things to do but little questions keep popping up and I have been getting conflicting answers.
The generally accepted feeding schedule for dogs getting insulin twice daily every 12 hours is to feed before injection. How long before?
Rather than going 12 hours between feedings wouldn't it be better to split the food into 3 or 4 feedings a day to avoid glucose spikes?
Any thoughts?
