Maybe Hank can have a chat with Nibbles (lol). All though his appetite has gotten a tiny (I mean tiny) bit better. He ate a Dorito the other night and He tried the Innova canned dog food and liked it for a day and last night we started Wellness canned with some mighty dog and he ate it all last night and this morning. Thank god because me throat (and neighbors and boyfriend) need a rest from me screaming "EAT YOUR FOOD" for 3 hours each morning and night!

Thanks SO much everyone! Never thought I'd be deliriously happy just cause he ate his breakfast! LOL But he's doing better. I'm still having to mix in some of the Cesar's for most meals but 75% is the good stuff! And we still have, "nah...don't think so today, Mom" days but they seem to be fewer.
I do hear you about the yelling Nibblesmom! I get reduced down to a quiet, pleading..."please, please eat your food...I have to give you insulin...please... please...please..." It's rather pathetic and I'm sure looks hilarious with the facial expression included.
I did notice that he did better if I didn't hover over him. Give him his cheese and put his food down and the 'look' along with, "now, it's time to eat and I expect you to eat like a big boy!" Not sure why but it seems to work.
Thanks again all...makes me happy to know you are all happy for us!
Shell and Hank (aka Mr. Pickypants) - now deceased (4/29/1999 - 12/4/2015) Cairn Terrier mix who was diagnosed 8/18/2011 and on .75 U Levemir 2Xday. Miss you little man!
Been there done it got all the t-shirts
Put the food down and walk away - he followed - when he figured nothing else was coming he went back to eat-I am watching out the corner of my eye - holding my breath

that's too funny. first i say "who's gonna eat like a big boy" then "come on you gotta fill your baby belly so you can grow up to be big and strong" then it's "please bubba you gotta eat or your gonna get sick" after 1 1/2 hours patience is usually gone and god knows what i"l do to make him eat.
my casey, boy she was a rough one, you couldn't tempt her with anything. she could go days without eattng if it was up to her. ibut she wasn't diabetic so no timeframe. i used to show her the commercials for animal cruelty the ones with sarah mccaulaughn(sp?) and tell her how lucky she was there's homeless and starving dogs all over the world. she didn't care though.

Good boy Hank. Shelly maybe he considers this as your Christmas gift.
Funny, as I read this thread, I can't help but think <Thank God this forum is read by mostly dedicated animal lovers who will stoop to the lowest of level just to get some food in their diabetic furry friends so that they can give them the insulin that will keep them alive<. I know I did

Me too!!
Although I thank whatever higher power there may be that Sally was NOT picky. She ate anything we put in front of her.
Buddy went through spurts, but finally baby food veggies and/or chicken would get him to eat.
Daisy is NOT diabetic so if she doesn't eat, no biggie. She's got some extra padding!
