Default homemade food

is there a place here to get recipes for diabetic and fussy dogs? My dog used to eat anything, i mean anything! now he's very fussy. the one thing i know he'll gulp down is eggs or peanut butter to hide his pills in. i tried pill pockets, he hates them.

also, i noticed last week when i was at the vet, there were about 5 dogs in the waiting room for their BG tests. the dr. told me its been that way all day. that raises a lot of red flags in my head with the foods that are being sold.

As with any forum like this that is based on a disease thats contingent on diet you would get an opinion on all spectrum's of diets . From being on this forum all types of diets work for there individual dogs from prescription to a quality commercial type to some lesser quality . Some of us feed homemade diets as i do with jesse

Her diet is chicken breast , hard boiled eggs , canned mackerel .pinto beans .,vegetables grind up in a food processor and sweet potato yams . I sprinkle yeast flakes on top for added flavor to the vegetables
Jesse-26 lbs - 16 years old ,10.5 years diabetic, one meal a day homemade and a vitabone snack . 3 shots of Novolin a day . Total insulin for a 24 hour period is 6.5 units of NPH insulin .
