I am so glad that he is in the hospital as well, and think that is the best place for him at this point.
Praying that he pulls through. I know it can be expensive, but they are worth the price ![]() Barb

IDEXX Treatment for pancreatitis http://www.vetstreet.com/care/pancreatitis-in-dogs http://vetmedicine.about.com/cs/dogd...ncreatitis.htm It is very serious and I am glad he's in the hospital. If, after reviewing these links, you still feel like he's not getting adequate care, you might consider an Internal Medicine Specialist and a 24-hour hospital. Sending healing wishes to Wrigley... I know Schnauzers are a breed known to have naturally occurring high triglycerides. I can't remember if yorkies are on that list too. Might be worth asking if there could be an underlying cause contributing to the pancreatitis too.
My understanding is that pancreatitis could cause secondary infection sometimes, requiring antibiotics. But the pain can be one of the main issues - and tramadol, being a pain reliever, could help with that. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way that your pup turns the corner soon and starts feeling better.

Apparently his past 3 episodes with Pancreatitis was not enough to raise a red flag at this Vets Office, and we waited for him to be near death to begin treating it. I'm Angry as hell. I'm hurting like never before, and all I can do is ask WHY? I'm not sure what will be left of him, if somehow he manages to get thru this. There is a huge hole in my Heart. All I can think about is him sitting there all alone in a scary place wondering where we are. |

![]() Try not to blame yourself (although I know it's hard), from what I've read there's nothing else you could have done to prevent this. The last time Bazz was hospitalized, I visited him every day. I truly think visits help with the healing process, and can give indescribable encouragement to our fur babies. I know you haven't been with us for very long, but my heart hurts for you and I truly wish there was more I could to help ![]() Keeping you in our prayers, Audrey & Bazzle

my jesse had a uterus infection pancreatitis, ketoacidosis and diabetes all at the same time . any one of them by themselves was life threatening she spent 8 days in hospital she had surgery for the uterus infection at that time . she went back and forth from the er vet and regular vet it seemed like insanity and just a dream but jesse pulled through a sick pup for some time
i think the important thing for me and jesse was i made sure i would see her every day just to let her know i was there to support her and i was not going to get a no answer from the vet on that point and they were very agreeable to that request . i did ask jesse if she wanted to stay and her answer was yes and i would do everything i could to help her get her health back at this point i would not focus on the negative but your pup pulling through. I know its hard with everything going on prayers for your baby for a positive outcome |

I agree with everyone else; the hospital is the right place for Wrigley right now. And I also agree with those who are suggesting you visit Wrigley each day if you possibly can. That could help him pull through.
Editing to add: I very much agree with the suggestion to take just as positive an attitude as you possibly can. I believe Wrigley needs that from you. I believe it's well-known that positive attitudes are among the most healing vibes you can get - or deliver. It will be good if you can convey that to Wrigley. And I send you MY positive attitudes, to try to help out! Praying for his, and your, well-being. <3 Last edited by CarolW; 01-09-2014 at 08:12 PM. Reason: add remarks about being positive |
