Hello Patty, this was on 14 units of Protaphane and 3.5-4 units of Humalog. I am giving him 4 units at night and 3.5 during the morning. Still erratic at times but usually pretty good. :-)

Hello, yes I am testing a lot! But only doing curve once a week now. It could be the heat you know, it sends us all crazy sometimes lol! I only walk him in the late evening (7:30pm) which is usually much cooler. OH the beach would be nice!

Looks like you are doing a great job! His numbers are def improving - there will always be days when they go higher maybe it's the heat?? Like Franklins mum Jane suggested let them swim instead of taking them for a walk. It's not crazy hot here YET but yesterday I brought CJ to the beach or a swim as it was hot.

Hello all. Bailey is on strong Prednefrin Forte eye drops to reduce his pressure in his eyes due to his advanced cataracts. He was on 1 drop in each eye morning and night. Now it's only night. But since the drop to the night only, his BG has been lower than ever. Good, and bad!! I wake up in the night to listen to his breathing, freaky! Tonight he is 9.6 (178) which is nice. The humalog will wear off soon and he will go back up. But it's been a massive juggling match and as you can see, some of those readings are very low!! I had to midnight snack him!! Anyhow, good news his insulin levels are lower and so are his BG levels so all good but still trying to find the right dosage!! It'w now 13.5 Basal and 3 or 2.5 Humalog. It was 13 Basal this last Sunday (10 Feb) but his readings were quite high so he's now on 13.5 and he goes MUCH lower, maybe Sunday was a "weird" day?!


Anyhow, nice to hear from you all, sorry I've been so slack

He sure does keep you hopping Geoff and he seems to be quite sensitive to just 1/2u changes. His ranges are better overall. I can see how coming off of the AM Pred drop would effect him.
