It kind of reminds me of the old Carson Tonight show when he was doing his Karnak bit and Ed McMahon would be talking about the famed and fabled "mystic seer from the East" when introducing Johnny as Karnak.

                  Dolly,

I think you need to go into your Control Panel in Regional and Language Options and activate the English United Kingdom option on your keyboard to make it work.

                  http://tlt.its.psu.edu/suggestions/i...ds/winkey.html

Think that your UK friends can make their "Yank" computer go British about the same way--by going into the Regional and Language Options and selecting English United Kingdom as their normal operating mode.

                  http://tlt.its.psu.edu/suggestions/i...s/codeint.html

If you need more information on how to activate the keyboard, please read the detailed instructions for activating the keyboard. These tables show select codes only, not all possible codes.

Let's see if that helps with the pound sign!

Thanks, I'll send them the link. I would not want to change language on mine if its gonna change my $ sign key etc.

You don't change yours--you add to it, using the "add" button. That won't change yours from the "main"--US English--it will just add the capabilities for things like the Pound sign when you use the special keystrokes.
