Re: Your dog's diet, insulin, and meter used
Dogs Name: Koda Bear
Breed: rat terrier chihuahua mix (per mixed breed DNA test)
Birthday : 3/11/2011
Weight: 12lbs (Barely 8lbs when diagnosed at 6 months of age and surrendered to vet by owner. Adopted by me at 8 months old)
Diet: fed at7am and 7pm
1/2cup Wellness Small Breed Healthy Weight
2TBL Solid Gold Green Cow (Tripe)
1TBL pure pumpkin
splash chicken broth
Insulin: Levimer 1unit and a smidge twice a day after meals. One unit is not enough and 1.25 is too much. Usually fasting readings are low 100's so I wait 45min to an hour to give insulin so he can make it 12 hours. If going low give penny size dab of honey or nutrical and 3 home baked chicken pieces
Alpha Trak2 meter used with Free Style lite strips. Test am/pm fasting, then around 3pm and before bed time to make sure he won't go low overnight.
