Re: Patty's Ali - my precious, beautiful angel
Patty,
I just read about our sweet Ali's passing. I am so very sorry for your loss, and I'm so very sorry that I wasn't on the forum when this all happened. I left off with Ali having seizures that seemed to be improving with meds, and just caught up with the follow-up. My heart aches for you. You are exactly right when you say that the pain is lessening but the hole never leaves. And it never will. So many don't understand the deep relationship we have with our pets; fortunately everyone here does. I always find comfort in that.
I want to reiterate what I have said a couple of times before on this forum when I faced the same painful decision for Ozzi. My vet told me this was the last act of kindness that you could give your beloved pet. I will never forget that, and it still helps me today. I know in my heart that you put Ali above yourself in making this selfless decision, and it truly was the last act of kindness that you could give her. I know she loves you for that. Ali had a tough time with allergies, diabetes and seizures. Through your love and constant monitoring, she had a wonderful life for as long as she could. No one was/is more devoted to her dog than you, and for that I sincerely love and respect you. YOU are the wind beneath my wings and a role model for all of us.
We all loved Ali and we are all devastated. I applaud you for ALWAYS doing the best thing for Ali. You really are something Patty. That aside, I know how hard it is and it really doesn't get a lot better. That's called love. And that's truly a wonderful thing.
I, like many of us, always felt a special bond with you. You helped me immensely with Ozzi and you have helped so many here. Ali was lucky to have you in her life, and so are we.
All my love,
Kevin

Re: Patty's Ali - my precious, beautiful angel
It really was amazing. Wish we could have 'played' a bit longer with Micah but we had 15 minutes for our tour price. They warned us he liked to play and could get a bit rambunctious. But he was all gentleman.
I hope so too Loretta. There are those pups that are just so very special to us that you just never want to be separated from. Thinking of you.

Patty I am so glad that you donated Ali's food too, it does help with the healing. I love Micah, so beautiful. I know how some days your mind is just consumed with thoughts of our fur babies. I found myself blubbering all day yesterday, I find I must keep my mind busy or I start to wonder What If's. I do hope that it is in God's plan that we get to see our fur babies again one day.
Merry Christmas to you
