Ali did not read the memo that infections are supposed to raise BG not lower it? Hope she and her levels are better today and that you can truly relax Patty

Awe, I think Ali just wanted you to stay home! It's funny Lily does that same sniffing the kitchen looking for crumbs when she is low. Smart dogs know they need food!!

          Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Oh Goldens! Such great dogs. My daughter is in the process of rehoming a golden that some guy was going to put down that was only 5 years old. He labeled this dog aggressive because supposedly it snapped at his mom and his sister brought two puppies over and had them in the yard and then let him out and he went charging at the puppies without really introducing them. He didn't hurt them but was behaving "aggresively". Now mind you this dog had not been around other dogs since he was a pup. Sounds like up until the last year he was kept in a backyard and then after the above incidents was moved to this guys house where it sounds like he got very little exercise and was often very upset about being alone. I don't understand how someone can put down a very healthy dog they have lived with for five years.

People amaze me. At the shelter I volunteer at we get all kinds of stories and excuses. Seems to me the number one excuse is "we are having a baby". Well really if you are at the childbearing age and expect to have a family, why in the hell did you get a dog in the first place!

            I love goldens!

Oh Betty, I agree. So glad your daughter is able to rehome this golden. Sounds like a little TLC and training should help a great deal.

Although my daughter would love to have taken the golden herself, she could not as she has a little bull terrier/dalmatian mix and her boyfriend has a little terrier mix and cannot take her. However, last I heard she was going to be flown from Dallas, TX to a foster or shelter in Alabama. She set this up with a rescue in Cincinnati, OH who set this up with her contact in Alabama. Its amazing what a little networking will do. Hopefully there Eli (the golden) will get a little one on one and work thru his problems if they really exist.
