Re: Patty's Ali - my precious, beautiful angel

Awe Tami. You are so sweet to remember. Tim wrote me this morning to say he was thinking of our girl. Today was one of the hardest days ever 2 years ago when we had to let her go. I was and am so blessed to have my k9 family to lean on. She was truly my heart-dog.

I saw a golden this last weekend waiting outside a store for his owner in a convertible. Had a lot of Ali's features and I wanted so badly just to reach in a pet him/her.

    Remembering some great times...
One of Ali's favorite places at our house in Maine

Loved the fall leaves...she was tortured by the chipmunks that would tease her just outside of the fence.

Curious girl would have just LOVED to play with this turtle

Thinking of our sweet girl today. I hope the day brings you and Tim more smiles than tears...

Oh my! Ali would have stalked it even if that meant sleeping with one eye open for days until she caught it. Then it would be a mauled mess as she carried it around like a new toy.

I would have done the same Holli and avoided her knowing it was ever there at ALL costs .

Whew...all I can think is dropping blood sugar, LOL.

Bill! I yelled to Rebecca to get a couple of dog treats, my phone, and for her to come help me. I stood in front of it while she lured them up the steps with treats.

Tami - LOL! I came home early to take Kinser to the vet. It was still in the yard - pretty much the same place. Rebecca was sooo excited this morning. The whole way to school she was asking if I had ever seen anything so cute. I had to text John & tell him not to let Toby out back when he got home. He was asking where we should move it to. I told him Rebecca would like it in a cage in her room. I won't repeat his response.

Got back from vets and it was still in the yard. While I was at the vets I asked around to find out what to do. Was told that mom bunny would come at dusk to retrieve baby. And baby did disappear for a bit. But about 10 min ago I let both dogs out back to potty. It's going on 11p and is dark here. I see Toby's face go down to the ground, stop, and jump back. I yelled and thankfully he is still scared of raised voices. John came out w/ a flashlight and there sits baby bunny. Got both dogs in, then out the front to potty. Now Toby thinks he's going for a bye bye and Kinser thinks he is going for a walk. And I'm ready for bed.

I'm hoping mom bunny comes before dawn. Toby is headed to the vets tomorrow. I may have to take baby bunny with me too. LOL!

    Of course not Bill!

It has it's own pen and is officially a member of the family!

Had to share... I thought of you and Ali this morning. I was (ironically) on the phone with the vet's office as I was letting Kinser & Toby outside. They both went down the steps and (thankfully) headed left to take care of their business. I looked down and saw baby bunny sitting ever so still. Both dogs completely missed baby bunny. I immediately thought of Ali and Decker. And somehow I imagine baby bunny might have been in trouble as I don't imagine either Ali or Decker would have missed her. LOL!

Thought you would enjoy. Hope all is well.

OH YEAh! That one gets a chuckle from me each time...."This is just not working."

Ali just being a dog, unlike the goddess nature I have ascribed to her. But then again there were the rabbits......

I'll take a look Tara. Most of what I have left in videos are very short clips I love the outtake one of trying to test her lip too.

Awe...found one where she got a birthday bone from 2010. Need to hit the sack as I have to be up early. Will try to upload in the next couple of days.

    Aww, Happy Birthday Ali!!!!

I love that video too, but I was so excited to see one I hadn't seen before. Could you dig us up another one?

my niece sent a card to my son and was talking about how her dog saw her first rabbit and wanted to chase. My brain said "ALI!". Whenever I see or hear of a rabbit it always means Ali to me.

Awe, everyone of you are my family. Thanks for sharing your memories and comments with me .

I would love to think she has rabbits and squirrels galore to chase...healthy and happy. Whatever the case may be, I know she is in good hands. I just loved that girl's personality.

She loved to boat so much and watched everything you did...assessing, learning and trying to figure out what you wanted out of her, while at the same time trying to get away with as much mischief as she could! Like waiting for just the right moment to attempt to jump out of the boat to catch the ducks! I learned very quickly not to leave her unleashed in the boat.

    Sending a kiss skyward Ali-girl!
