Benadryl is just diphenhydramine, you should be able to get it in ANY pharmacy. I get mine at Walmart, use their Equate brand, it is cheaper. Just be careful to not use extended release, you want just the regular, with no additives, no DM etc.
My diabetic pug has collapsed trachea, which is treated somewhat the same as LP. I use the benadryl and mucinex as well as lasix. If your vet has any torbutrol it is the best but getting hard to source. Are you using theophylline or any broncho dilators?
bonine if you are in the US, or gravol if you are in Canada, both are for travel sickness, and both perfectly safe for dogs.
