Re: Sissy's Mom

Jackie,

I give it along the side, sort of in front of the thigh. I pinch a little skin, and it seems to just slide right in, if I inject on a angle. Of course she is just munching on her treat while I am doing this.

I found that her scruff was too dense, even though I didn't give shots there too long. I also found the shoulder area, not so great in absorption. It seemed like she would drop quickly, and not slowly in those locations.

For testing purposes... I went back to those sites, and got some irradic resuts again. I know that every dog is different, but I think we all end up grasping at something to change up.

Give it sometime at the 7.0, and then change the location. See if it makes a difference.

Sounds good, Barb,
I know it sounds crazy, but Sissy was coming down better on 6.75 then she is on 7. She is hardly moving numbers????

Re: Sissy's Mom

That is good actually. Perhaps she can be a little flatter... give it some time. PATIENCE!!

This is a good example where the flank is:

Oh yes, she has hardly any skin there. Might try side of belly later, not now with the changes already under way.

My husband accused me of pushing Ali off the time she fell off our bed :D.

I agree with Barb. Flatter is better. If the flat numbers continue, even if high, they can be brought down with a tad more insulin once a pattern is established.

You just have to find a location that you can rotate around while keeping her pattern to avoid thick tissue build up.

LOL, poor Ali.!! Sissy seems to be staying in 200's to 300's with a few 400's.
I'm trying not to test so much and give it a few days. It appears her pattern is the same. a few days better, then a high day, etc. Will keep track;)

Re: Sissy's Mom

I am soooo confused. Sissy is doing exactly the same thing she did before, with old food. Here are some morning fasting and nite fasting numbers!!!!
She has been 9 days on 100 % wellness food.

I will start with 7/20th. am #'s and units, pm #'s and units???

7/20 pm 490- 7 units

7/21 am 363- 6.75
pm 232- 6.75
7/22 am 393-6.75
pm 321-6.75
7/23 am 357-6.75
pm 315-6.75
7/24 am 476-7
pm 364-7
7/25 am 356-7
pm 307-7
7/26 am 432-7
pm 508-7
Do Not know where to go from here:confused::eek:

Jackie,

I think a full curve is needed. Iff she is flat, she just may need more insulin. When I had Abby in the wellness her insulin levels had to increase. But I would definitely do a curve before raising

Hey Jackie

Lets see a curve in 4 more days. Then she will be on a steady 7 units for 7 days.

Does this seem okay with you?

Your doing great

Mo
