Itís been a while and Earl is doing great.
His last two tests were 120 and 140.
He now jumps up on his chair after meals so I can pick him up and put him in hammock for injections.

I was able to use hammock and give Earl his shot this morning.

He has short legs but once in hammock and tucking in the right areas he was relaxed but a bit exited too.
I was going to wait...

I ordered a grooming hammock and I am very confident it will work.

Itíll take some time getting him used to it so Iíll make go slow and plenty of praises.

One is Earl and the clamp is on the tricep area.
I donít see any way to post pictures.

I think I can improve the clamp Iíve been using.
Itís similar to a chip bag clip but if thereís enough loose skin it makes a nice mound.More like a Twinkie shape and I have poked parallel to the...

I think for now maybe try some BD syringes.
They seem to be the most comfortable by what Iíve read.
Iím using the syringes the vet gave me Utimed inc and they may not be the most comfortable.

Iíve looked at devices like vetpen and thereís one in testing called PKA SoftTouch.
I also looked at comfort-in.

Iíll have to do more research.

So far my vet has tested blood sugar after injections 3 times and there’s another coming up in approximately 2 weeks.
The 4 units two times daily got Earl eating and drinking much more normal but...

Thanks for encouragement.

I was trying to find some safety retractable syringes so that after the injection needle gets sucked up into syringe and they are only available in U-100.

I’m giving Earl 5 units U-40 of vetsulin twice a day every 12 hours after meals.

My dog (50% chiawaha/Jack Russell) started insulin therapy about 2-3 weeks ago.
Earl is much better than before and gets 2 injections a day after meals.
Now that his glucose is more under control...
