You can purchase 100 strips for $35 as of today. I haven't tried these strips yet myself but I may try them out the next time I need to reorder.

Here is some information from an Amazon purchaser:
Q: Can the Freestyle test strips be used with the AlphaTrak system?
A: Yes they can. I know this because I use them every single day in my dog's Alpha Trak2 meter. You do have to use a code though, and that varies from box to box. If you research online, you will find a list of about 5-6 codes that work with the AlphaTrak 2 meter. The key is to use the same blood drop and test with an AlphaTrak 2 strip first, then using the Freestyle Lite strips, try several different codes, using a new strip each time, until you get the code that most closely matches the results of the AlphaTrak2 strip. You will be within a few points as when air hits the blood sample, it will make the results differ, but if you can get within 5-10 points, you should be good as we use the results as a general guide, not an exact science. Always use genuine AlphaTrak 2 strips for doing curves and important readings such as verifying a low reading. I use Freestyle Lite for general daily testing before each meal and other tests, but not for curves. I do sometimes use both strips on curves, just to verify how close they are, and they are always within a few points. Remember to not push the strip into the blood but just gently touch the little pointy thing that sticks out on the side of the strips to the blood drop, (I think it is called the Zipwik,) because flooding the strip can cause inaccurate results. It only takes a tiny spec of blood the size of a grain of salt, if you are doing it right.
