Oh, Rick; it's just SO great to hear from you! And catch up on Lucy's news!

        Glad Buddy got a home.

Now, this new one you have; wow; he is very handsome! So, what is Satan-ish about him? (hehe)

Love and hugs to Lucy - and to you! And to Satan-ish - what's his name?

Tell us a little about him!

Satan's name is Caleb, but we've been calling him Bo-Bo. This is gonna sound stupid, but I don't think he likes "Caleb." I've always liked the name "Beauregard" for a dog, so....

He was picked up in Bakersfield as a stray and Love4canines.org picked him up with some other dogs. He was absolutely terrified of EVERYTHING and was stuck in a boarding kennel because nobody wanted to take him on. After Buddy got adopted...

His tail was docked and he was neutered when they found him, so he WAS in a home at one time. What KIND of home...

When I first saw his picture I immediately thought "coyote." After seeing his gait I believe he is a Corgi mix, but I wouldn't rule out a coyote in the woodpile somewhere. Someone who knows says she definitely sees coyote there.

Here's his rescue picture. Poor thing.

He's made great progress. He now takes treats from us at home but not when we're out & about. He's still VERY skittish around strangers.

He LOVES to play ball and even brings it all the way back sometimes. Loves to ride in the car and go for walks in town. Traffic noise doesn't seem to bother him as much as people do.

He is VERY high energy & boisterous. We are working on manners, which includes not marking in the house.

            He IS adorable, isn't he?

Hey, Rick! Caleb - Bo-Bo - Satan - haha - is one wildly HANDSOME dog! Lucky thing, because with all the photos and then the same ones re-quoted, it's a PUN-ishing download when you're on dial-up, as I am, so I'm making a note to skip past page 34 next time I'm on here! (hehe).

The photos are so gorgeous I had to save them to mu k9diabetes folder!

Rick - you're truly a great rescuer. Bo-Bo is SO lucky you took him in!

Best wishes to you and all-any of your dogs. And it's really nice to know gorgeous Lucy is doing so well.

We skipped over Buddy pretty quickly; haha!

                  Hi Rick!

I was just thinking about you the other day and thinking that's it's been way too long since we heard from you.

Caleb / Bo-Bo is so cute!! Poor little guy just never was taught any manners or to trust people. I'm glad you're there to show him how good life can be.

There's something in his face, actually, that reminds me a bit of Lucy, especially in the picture of his curled up with your German shepherd... the eyes.

                  • Might be seeing Lucy tomorrow!

I'm taking foster Bo-Bo up to Anaheim Hills Petco tomorrow for the www.love4canines.org weekly adoption event.

Dr. David & Connie told me they'd try to come by with Lucy for a little visit!

                    She's doing great, BTW.

                    Rick

I'll have to go see if Bo-Bo's picture is at the rescue site.

                        How are you doing?

Beauregard AKA Bo-Bo went by Cayleb at the rescue but he didn't seem to like it (sounds crazy, but...) He's first on this page...

Remeber how hard it was to get Lucy to gain weight? Well, she's made up for it in spades. The poor girl is FAT.

Still a loveable sweetheart, tho. We had a nice visit. She had a cyst of some sort on her ear so they took the tip off. She now has matching ears.

"Cayleb" is a handsome guy . Hope he finds a great family!

Rick - I'm SO glad you got to see Lucy! I always adored her! Fat? Oh, my!

My new Camellia gained FIVE POUNDS in two weeks - wow! She seemed a good weight at 7.2 Kg (17.1 pounds) - but I changed her food; two weeks later, she weighed 7.8 Kg (22 pounds) - YIKES!

So I'm cutting back just a bit on her new kibble, a grain-free, quite high-protein kibble made not far away, with sources close by.

Don't want to reduce the food too sharply. Today, her ribs seem as prominent as they were when she was first weighed, but I'm SURE she didn't LOSE five pounds in five days or so!

Wonder if the vet scale was off for one of the weighings. Not likely!

Camellia sends her love to Lucy! And to you, one of the finest DogDaddys ever!

Sorry to hear that Lucy's porked out - I'm kind of surprised actually as they were so intent on getting her blood sugar perfect. I would have thought they'd be real sticklers for diet too.

I'll bet it was awesome to see her. She and you pop into my mind periodically... I would love to have met her.
