  • ACCU-CHEK Softclix - It's the best thing!

I was using the One Touch Delica which came with the One Touch kit. I wasn't really satisfied with it - as Stetson could "feel" the touch of the needle before he was pricked, and also it was "clicky". He seemed to react to the sound of it. I went to the store and I saw that the ACCU-CHECK lancet was a little bigger so I looked to see what they used to deliver it with and it said Softclix. It was very highly rated and then Patty said it was her favorite too. Done.

It is the BEST THING! There is no projecting needle. It doesn't make a noise (hardly any) And there is very little room for error. (almost NONE) Stetson did not know I was taking any blood.

There are 2 versions. Softclix and Softclix Plus. I went with the regular one since some people said on Amazon that they did not like the Plus version. The lancets are very cheap on eBay.

So glad you like it and it works for Stetson!

I too started with the OneTouch lancets. I had such a hard time getting blood but the AccuChek lancets seem to be shaped a little different and were much easier for us. I actually didn't start out with the lancing device and was lancing by hand for a year. It wasn't until I read how much Natalie like the device that I gave it a try.

I haven't tried the Multiclix but I've heard from a handful of people here that have and didn't like it.

I also called the company once because I couldn't find the information on the box regarding what gauge the lancets are. I believe they are 28 if I remember right which is actually thinner than some people like here. But I think it also depends on where you're taking blood from.

Everyone has their own favorites...this is one of mine

I tried the One Touch Delica also and didn't like it. I just had a hard time getting blood so ended up trying again and again to get enough blood. I recently got the Accu-Chek SoftClix and love it. So far, I'm able to get the sample I need the first time. Only thing that concerns me is they no longer show this lancet device on their website. Hopefully, they will continue to manufacture the lancets that go with the device.

I'm curious if they are discontinuing the Softclix device completely. I may try to call them this afternoon.

I called AccuChek today. While they are only showing the multiclix on their particular website, the Softclix is still readily available and the agent assured me it isn't going away anytime soon. Very good news
