I can't remember who's thread it was that we were talking about Ketodiastix (urine strips for measuring both glucose and ketones) recently and whether Walmart still carried them. I was in Walmart yesterday and wanted to find out for sure.
I knew they often stock Ketostix, though some places you have to ask for them at the pharmacy vs. finding them on the shelf.
And, most places don't stock the Ketodiastix anymore (because human diabetics blood test instead of relying on urine strips).
So, I asked the gal if the Ketodiastix could still be ordered and she looked them up in the computer for me (after clarifying exactly what they were...a.k.a. not just the ketone strips...3 times). They can be ordered and typically will be in within the next day.
I thought this was helpful info since so many people buy insulin and syringes at Walmart and wouldn't have to run all over town if they wanted the urine strips.
I asked her for the UPC codes, knowing how confusing it can be to get the right information across, especially if you're new to all this.
Walmart's info - UPC is universal for all Walmarts
