  • Dr. V tutorial on making chicken jerky at home

I know some folks have been trying to make their own chicken jerky to avoid getting anything from China. Thought Dr. V's tutorial might be helpful. I don't cook much but I might actually do this one soon and see how it goes. Jack would love it.

I do Abby's in the oven at 160, 2 hrs (1 hr each side), if they are thinly slice. I do store them in the Refrigerator just to be sure that they kept safe. I also do Sweet Potatoes this way as well. She absolutely loves them as well... Sweet potatoes I have found never raise her BG levels.

that does look easy. I remember attempting to bake some liver for the dogs once. that was a failure although they adore the freeze dried liver.

We haven't made chicken jerky, but we did by some shaved steak the other day and put it in the food dehydrator. Chase absolutely loves it

Thanks for the video Natalie. I have made them 3 times for my Sadie and Max and they love them. Very easy to do in the oven!

I don't cook at all but maybe I'll try that. Monk will no longer eat the store bought jerky treats any way. I think they are too tough for him now. It's nice to know about the sweet potatoes too. I gave them to my other dog but was afraid they would raise Monk's bg. I am always hesitant to try different foods and treats. I not really suavey on what raises BG and what doesn't especially when it comes to things like carrots, sweet potatoes, wheat, or barley etc.

My other dog eats bananas, carrots, califlower, broccoli, green beans. I've only tried green beans and broccoli with Monk and now he will only eat the broccoli if its mixed with chicken and chicken broth from the can of chicken. He used to eat it if I just steamed it in chicken broth from a box.

I do know not to feed either of them chocolate, garlic, onions, grapes, raisins or nuts and a couple of other things that don't come to mind right now.
