Re: A general note about diet discussions

Having a hot dog is a treat when we visit Costco. $1.50 for a hot dog and soda, a pretty good deal!
Annie was an 18 pound Lhasa Apso that crossed the rainbow bridge on 10-5-17. She was nearly 17 years old and diabetic for 9˝ years.

It's defiantly the bun and deli mustard that makes those sooo good! And your right Craig, can't beat the price!

Off topic of diabetes but on topic of Hills Prescription foods...

My 17yo kitty, Melody, that was on her death bed 3 years ago at the time she was dx with renal failure and then congestive heart failure has thrived with Hills k/d and at last check of her BUN and Creatinine last month is actually at an 'ok' level.

I've recently started 2 others (Henry and Allie) that are in renal failure with the same.

Same here with the Z/D...for years my cat Mika did very well on it. Terrible allergies caused her to rip her mouth with her claws. For some reason, she seemed to get better after about seven or eight years and no longer needs it. Of course, they would ALL love to eat that kitty crack, Friskies, but I only use that for treats. LOL

                  Don't forget the hot sauce!!!

The best Hot Dogs in the world can be had at Ted's Red Hots® in the Buffalo / WNY area.

Other than Ted's, at home try ...

Hebrew National®, Nathan's® or Oscar Mayer® all beef, ... in that order! Warm em on the low side of the grill then move em to the ~~HOT~~ side and let em get charred and split open!

I'm blaming you guys that have posted into this hot dog thread for any weight gain I might have this week!

I told Linda about all this hot dog talk last night and we needed a treat at 8PM. Keep in mind we rarely go out of an evening and it was a 5 mile drive to our destination: FIVE GUY'S. I don't know how wide FIVE GUY's reach is, they opened several locations here 3-5 years ago, and this was our first visit. They split the hot dogs, and then grill. We had two each! (sorry Annie, didn't take one home).

They were OK, but Costco at half the cost, will be our go-to place for our hot dog treats.

It's fun sometimes to throw caution to the wind and do something so out of the ordinary!!! I really need to give the Five Guys dog a go-around!

They like any grocery store bought dry cat food for treats. I found I was spending a fortune to buy actual treats so decided to try dry cat food and found that at least they'd be getting some nutrition with their addiction. Every time I give Hank his blood tests, he gets five or six pieces and of course, Ria think she NEEDS some, too. Does not want to be left out. lol
