  • Chicken Jerky recipe

    Hello all

Thought I would make this easier to find:-D

We make two breasts at a time. Take partially defrosted boneless chicken breasts and slice them as thin as you can. Bake at 200 on a foil covered cookie sheet for a couple of hours, turning every hour done. Done depends on how chewy or crispy you want it to be. When cool cut the strips into skinnier strips and store in the fridge. These are the only treats Charlie gets now other than a piece of baby carrot when he poos....which as we all know with the amount of fiber they eat is 3-4 times a day

    Thanks Laura!

It's nice to be able to make your own and avoid the whole issue of jerky from China.

There are getting to be more homegrown Jerky products available commercially too but making it at home is certainly the safest option.

I buy a brand of chicken jerky called Spot Farms, located in Kentucky. I can only find it in specialty pet stores, and they are extremely high quality. And I'm telling you, they smell so good that I'm tempted to taste them!!!! Just because I'm too lazy to make them for Spirit.
