The above is my mantra too. So much has changed in my life since I lost Ruby. There was the drastic change of not caring for a diabetic dog, but my life was so overcrowded that there wasn't a huge void...at least time wise, missing her was something altogether different. And then there was the life altering change of lossing my brother that still doesn't seem real. Sometimes it seems like the "season of Ruby" was a lifetime ago.

It is so easy for me to get caught up in the minutae in life it is a relief to come back to the bigger picture.

It's good to be back in CO tonight though!
Anyway.... what I really wanted to do was touch base and see where the heck you are these days. I got so lost with the back and forth. Truth be told I thought you had moved right after you went away to the friends place for a getaway. I decided to stop keeping track then.
I have moved so few times and it has always been pretty close by. It sounds like a huge undertaking to relocate the way you and Tim often have to.

No rush as I know you would be around if you had the time. Just wanted to let you know you were being thought of.

Thanks Tami. Miss her smiling face....voice.

What her and Tim give up, huh? Talk about a life (lives) of service; Tim for country and Patty for us.

          Much appreciated!

At least we have a cute new avatar of Ali to look at in her abcense.

Awe sweet to check in and see Ali"s thread pulled up. Thanks for thinking of us. I have an antiquated smart phone so its harder to keep up without internet and my computer. I hadn't checked in for awhile.

Truck picked up on Thurs last week and will arrive here to deliver tomorrow. I went home (followed mom who had helped me on the CO end) to see my dad and help out with the garden etc since he'd had surgery recently. Just got into KY night before last to attend a meeting on Wed. Craziness I tell you.

This is move #13 and it gets more organized but still isn't any easier. I miss my girl. This is the only place she hasn't lived with us. I went to the airplane museum one last time before I left. Then took some rose quartz I'd picked up while hiking in CO home to put on her grave (Tim's sweet idea). Sat and talked to her awhile.

Internet should be hooked up middle of next week but I may still be buried in boxes, lol.

Had to put up the pic of Ali surrounded with boxes from our last move as an avatar before I left.

            Thanks for checking on us!

Glad you arrived safely. Nice to have you back here. Wondered if the avatar of Ali was from a previous move - it's a great picture! Hugs to you and Tim!

We have been missing your presence on the forum. Glad you arrived safely - ugh.. I hate those boxes, and feel your 'pain'.

What a nice idea that Tim had. You should have bought some deer antlers for her as well, as I remember she liked them so much.

We have internet! Not wireless yet but nice to not be reading so much on my phone. Still buried in the process of unpacking. Most of the boxes are out. Still looks like chaos as I find places for things. Hoping to have a bit more time to catch up on the forum. Not sure I'll be able to read all the way back in new threads and my time is limited with work here, but so nice to have my computer connection back

So nice to see you back, sure miss you. I saw your post on Tara's thread, and wanted to just say that I sure miss that Ali of yours as well. Hope you are doing well, I know that you miss your girl, but wherever you and Tim are, she is right there.

Thanks Mel (waving back ) and Barb. Her picnic table is out back. Sure needs a repaint job after the hail 2 years ago, but it's too humid to do that until fall! I also brought her stones (the ones she walked on over the rock out back) and have no idea what I'll do with those as we'll have to be sure grass grows back in wherever I put them before we leave. But, I'll find someplace to put them.

You know as soon as you speak the words that you are not yet ready for another dog a picture of one will never fail to draw you in...she's a rescue girl, 8-10mo at 30#s. Wasn't well cared for but would be in my house!

I knew liking the rescue group this early would do me in!
