You all are so wonderful. I'm blessed to have such great friends here. I think Ali would take each and every one of you to curl up with now...as long as you rub her chest while you're there (her favorite spot).

I tried laying down next to her earlier today since I didn't sleep much last night, but I think she was still too 'ouchy' and started panting a bit like she was hurting, so I left her alone and she relaxed again.

Her blood sugar stayed in the 200s all day. She was 290s tonight fasting.

I worried about her keeping her food down tonight. She usually has a pretty strong stomach but hasn't wanted hardly any ice chips or water all day. She still hasn't peed since we arrived at the clinic, despite the IV fluids.

I knew her bg would spike feeding her then waiting to inject but I didn't feel I had a choice and didn't want to give Humalog if there was a chance she might not hold her dinner down. So far so good with holding her dinner, but bg rose to 401 because her insulin hasn't kicked in yet. Hoping she'll come down yet and we'll get back on track tomorrow.

She's currently growling in her sleep while I type...too cute.

Great picture. She looks so at peace.

We did get a good night sleep. Her blood sugar came down into the mid 200s last night. She's running 200s to upper 100s so far today. But I've also added in the Rimadyl and Amoxitab, so not sure how the rest of the day will play out yet.

Ali hadn't peed since just before we went into the clinic around 7:30am. She finally went at midnight. I think she wanted to but just couldn't assume the position well and would give up. She was actually restricting her water intake even with her 2 meals last night so I added some to her food bowl and she drank that.

Today she's a bit more active. I've had to stop her from scooting in the grass 3x's so far to rub it. Good thing that glue is strong. This is going to be a challenge.

Patti, I am SO glad that Ali is doing well today and that you had a good night. I can imagine it will be difficult to keep her from scooting. Praying for continued healing with minimal scooting!!

I'm so glad that's behind her (sorry for the pun...). I imagine the cytology might take a few days?

If you're lucky, the cyst has been part of what's been bothering her and maybe she will settle down a bit generally once it's all healed up.

That would be very very difficult to keep her from scratching!! Good luck!!

Perhaps, if you have any Tarzan in you, you could muster up her squirrel for a visit.

My Amy had 8 cysts removed from her vulva area about 5 years ago. It really was painful for her. We saw grayish / brown fatty looking things - biopsy came back as a some kind of cyst.
The surgery was painful for her - since then, she's become quite sensitive to anyone touching her rear area.
We used a doggy panty used for female dogs in season to keep her off that area.

                              Hi Patty,

So glad that Ali is doing OK. Sorry I missed the earlier posts but been having a few days of feeling a bit "off".

Hope the news from the pathology is good. It sounds as though it should be from what the vet found.

Wow Yunhee, 8 cysts. Poor girl.

Haven't heard back on the pathology report yet. Will let you know when I do. Still watching her like a hawk.

Took Ali out for a ride around town yesterday afternoon. Her blood sugar stayed pretty constant with a mild rise in the PM.

Today we went out again but got a very large rise tonight from 190s midday to 390s fasting. Yikes. I did start a new batch of lentils today. I also got caught up and we left 1/2 hour later today. Who knows. I used almost 1/4u Humalog to prevent a meal spike tonight so she should come down.

Here's a pic of the area we hopped out of the car today to potty and look around. She enjoyed the day too.
