    Thanks for all of the advice given here! It has been so helpful..
    I took Finnegan to the vet on Thursday.. he said it looked like seasonal allergies, and prescribed Benadryl 25 mg caps.. and an anti biotic to clear up the wound on his back , where he has been scratching so much..
    He is so much better now after 24 hours.. hardly scratching and the wound is healing... no more bleeding. He also gave me a topical spritzer with steroids for it.. He said he didnt want to give injections, as that could affect his blood sugar, and his are fine, and want to keep him that way..
    so all in all, a good result!
    so relieved, that he's relieved!

      Great news Karen,

      Glad that you are getting some relief for Finnegan.
      Jan & Dazzle (Border Collie aged 12 yrs) dx 06th February 2009. Dx Hypothyroid 12th July 2011. 6 units am & 5 units pm for this week - still trying to get her back on track. Soloxine 0.4 mgs once a day.
