Thanks for all your birthday wishes. I'm 11 but don't look a day over 5LOL..My Mom is so happy she found this forum. It really helped her..she was a nervous wreck when I got diagnosed, but I'm doing well and back to my spunky self. I do miss Begging Strips though!! Oh well, boiled chicken will have to do for now. calculating food eaten
Hello,
I managed to find a Petsitter to do 7 am walk feed n insulin, but am concerned he may not have time to weigh food left after Baxter eats..I can eyeball what half eaten looks like, but am looking for a system to help with morning.. any ideas? ThxCockapoo 11 y/0 27 lbs.Dx: 7/12

I would recommend weighing, and then placing that portion in a baggie... then on the baggie I add additional instructions if needed. Like adding water to the food, or cottage cheese, or broccoli. insulin dose for petsitter
Hi sorry I wasn't clearer I need a system so the Petsitter knows amount of insulin to give based on food, for example, Baxter rarely eats entire breakfast so I have to look at what's left to see if it was half or 3/4 eaten..how do I set up a system for Petsitter. To know how much he ate ?? Again, I can weigh what's left n know PORTION, but Petsitter. Needs better system ..ideas???Cockapoo 11 y/0 27 lbs.Dx: 7/12

If you have the weight of Baxter's empty bowl already, he could just place the bowl on the scale and subtract it's weight. That would be super fast and I wouldn't think too much to ask.
Example:
I'd tape the instructions to a cabinet near the scale...
Bowl weighs 12 oz
Place bowl on scale
Subtract 12oz from that weight
Give X amount of insulin for X weight

injections now seem to hurt Baxter
Hi,
We've been rotating injection sites, but the last 2 shots, he seems to feel the needle more, same needles sre being used. Anyone have this happen?...what am I doing wrong. Also, do any of you use scruff of neck? I was using sides/back where vet shaved and roatating them..anyone have tips, tricks, so I don't hurt my boy. ThxCockapoo 11 y/0 27 lbs.Dx: 7/12
